The Sully Guitars Comet is not an official model, and it never will be. But history has a way of repeating itself. First seen at NAMM 2019, the Comet returns for NAMM 2026 as a singular, intentional one-off—built as a quiet tribute to Ace, whose passing in October 2025 left a lasting impact. This guitar isn’t a replica, a reissue, or a production idea. It’s a moment, frozen in time, then set loose at escape velocity.

Built with a neck-through construction, the Comet is all about uninterrupted energy transfer and effortless upper-fret access. A basswood center blank with basswood wings keeps the response fast, punchy, and immediate—perfect for the Comet’s stripped-down, no-gravity philosophy.

There’s no visual clutter here. No inlays. No distractions. Just a clean maple fretboard, 24 jumbo frets, and Luminlay side dots that glow like distant stars when the lights go down. It’s a guitar that knows exactly what it’s here to do.

Electronics are equally focused. A single Sully Guitars C-Salt bridge pickup delivers raw, articulate firepower, controlled by a Tesi latching on/off button—a deliberate, almost spacecraft-like interface that feels more launch control than volume knob. It’s brutally simple, wildly expressive, and completely addictive.

Finished in the aptly named Lightning Bolt, the Comet looks like it’s already in motion—caught mid-burn as it tears through the atmosphere.
