Meet: Brandon Johnson
Brandon Johnson brings over two decades of experience as a guitarist and bassist, along with more than five years of dedicated teaching experience. His depth of knowledge is matched by a strong academic foundation: he earned his Associate’s degree from Santa Rosa Junior College, a Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Studies from Sonoma State University, and a Master’s degree with an emphasis in Jazz Studies from California State University Long Beach.
Brandon’s musical versatility spans a wide stylistic spectrum, including classical, jazz, blues, and metal. Whether guiding a beginning student through foundational technique or mentoring an advanced player in improvisation and harmonic development, he approaches every lesson with professionalism, patience, and a genuine commitment to individual growth.
He works thoughtfully with students of all ages, tailoring each session to their unique goals and learning styles. Areas of instruction include technique, music theory, composition, improvisation, ear training, and sight-reading—providing students with both the technical command and creative confidence to excel.
