PRS Tekton - Imperial Topaz
PRS guitars has spent four decades refining the set-neck, 25" scale, mahogany-and-maple formula that made the Custom 24 an icon — and the Interstellar Tone Traveler has loved every moment of that journey. But the Tekton T is something different. Named after the ancient Greek word for artisan and builder, this is PRS listening to a new generation of players and responding with genuine conviction: a bolt-on maple neck, 25.5" scale length, 16" fretboard radius, and a subtly offset body shape that feels immediately familiar yet unmistakably fresh. The Modern "D" neck profile is extraordinarily thin — 49/64" at the first fret — designed for speed, comfort, and technical passages that demand absolute confidence in the hand. The shallow violin carve and sculpted neck heel eliminate the access issues that haunt so many guitars, and the figured mango top in Violet Tourmaline gloss nitro is a visual statement worthy of its gemstone namesake: deep, lustrous purple over organic mango figure that shifts and moves with the light. Smoked Black hardware, satin nitro neck, and offset dot inlays complete a modern aesthetic that reads as PRS from across the room while charting entirely new territory.
At the heart of the Tekton T are PRS Stylus pickups — developed specifically for this platform and engineered with a philosophy that most pickup designers have never fully addressed. Voiced for clarity, articulation, and character rather than raw output, the Stylus pickups deliver aggressive tones without sacrificing note definition, and their intentionally flatter response curve means they play equally well through a traditional tube amplifier and a modern digital rig — Fractal, Kemper, Neural DSP, or whatever comes next. Split or full humbucking via the push/pull tone control, every position was designed to be equally useful on stage, in the studio, or at home. The PRS Two-Point Tremolo with steel plate and brass saddles provides expressive performance possibilities with the tuning stability PRS is known for, and 24 stainless steel frets on a flat 16" ebony fingerboard make every note feel locked in and immediate. This is PRS built for what's next.
