Novo Dealer Limited Miris JHH - Amber Burst
products.product.pickup_availability.unavailable
The Interstellar Tone Traveler has made no secret of its admiration for Dennis Fano's work at Novo Guitars — but the Miris JHH reminds us that the Serus J, as extraordinary as it is, is only one dimension of what Novo is capable of. The Miris is a different animal: a semi-hollow offset body built from Swamp Ash with a Figured Maple top, and the Amber Burst finish over that figured maple is one of the most quietly stunning things in the shop right now. Warm, golden, and rich — the kind of color that glows like light through aged resin, or a star seen through an atmosphere of warm gas — it deepens toward the edges in a way that the figured maple grain amplifies rather than obscures. Light nitro aging keeps the finish honest and alive, and the black headstock provides a striking, deliberate contrast against the warmth of the body. This is a Novo that announces itself differently than the Serus J, and that's exactly the point.
The JHH designation tells the tonal story clearly: dual Lollar Low Wind Humbuckers, voiced specifically for clarity, dynamics, and vintage PAF character at lower output levels — a pickup choice that makes particular sense in a semi-hollow, where the body's own acoustic bloom and resonance become part of the instrument's voice. Swamp Ash and figured maple are both tonally expressive woods, and the semi-hollow construction amplifies that expressiveness further, adding the kind of airy sustain and acoustic dimension that solid bodies simply don't produce. The tempered maple neck with compound 9.5"–14" radius East Indian Rosewood fingerboard carries MOTO Block inlays — a step up from the Serus J's dots, and a visual choice that suits Amber Burst beautifully. Black Witch Hat knobs, 18:1 Novo tuners, a 3-ply parchment pickguard, and the Mastery M1 bridge with NV Vibrato and Lightning Bolt arm complete an instrument built from the same philosophy as every Novo that comes through our doors: best-in-class components, uncompromising construction, and a tonal result that justifies every decision. At 7lbs 10oz, it's a semi-hollow that wears beautifully.
