PRS Tekton T - Imperial Topaz
The Tekton family now covers three distinct performance philosophies in the same platform, and the Tekton T is the one that lives in the middle — not the lock-and-dive Floyd Rose approach, not the fixed sustain of the Hardtail, but PRS’s own two-point tremolo with steel plate and brass saddles: expressive, smooth, and built for players who want pitch movement without the full commitment of a floating system. Imperial Topaz over figured mango on a mahogany back under high-gloss nitro — the same warm, amber-gold gemstone finish that glows on the Hardtail — lands differently here because the tremolo opens up a different kind of musical territory. Smoked black hardware, Luminlay side dots, satin nitro neck back, PRS Phase III locking tuners (the standard nut means locking tuners handle stability here rather than a locking nut) — everything in place.
The PRS two-point tremolo with brass saddles gives the Tekton T a vibrato character that’s closer to a refined Strat-style trem than a Floyd — warm, smooth, with the tonal contribution that brass saddles add at the contact point. The mahogany back brings the same organic warmth and resonance as the Hardtail, and the Stylus humbuckers with push/pull coil split cover the full tonal range with the clarity and note definition the pickups were voiced for. 25.5" scale, 16" ebony fingerboard, Modern “D” neck at 49/64" and 27/32", scarfed bolt-on maple neck — the Tekton T in Imperial Topaz for players who want expression, warmth, and a finish that looks exactly like its name.
