PRS Tekton - Bloodstone Red
The Tekton Floyd is built for players who want to move pitch. The Tekton Hardtail is built for players who want everything else — maximum sustain, direct string-to-body resonance, and the kind of uncomplicated, locked-in stability that a fixed bridge delivers without compromise. Bloodstone Red is the right finish for that mission: a deep, rich, gemstone-dark red with the kind of saturated complexity that reads differently in different light, the figured mango top pulling the color through the grain in shifting layers under high-gloss nitro. This is a sophisticated, confident finish — not the electric immediacy of Hot Pink or the regal depth of Purple Royale, but something that sits in its own territory entirely. And beneath the mango top, a mahogany back changes the tonal equation meaningfully: warmer, fuller in the low end, with more of the organic resonance that mahogany contributes to a body that the alder-backed Floyd version doesn’t have. Smoked Black hardware throughout, Luminlay side dots, satin nitro neck back — the Tekton family details, consistently executed.
The hardtail configuration lets the mahogany/mango combination speak directly, and the PRS Hardtail bridge translates that resonance into the strings with a sustain and articulation that floating tremolo systems can’t match in the same way. PRS Phase III Locking tuners handle pitch stability at the headstock — the standard nut setup means locking tuners do the job here rather than a locking nut — and the rest of the spec is the Tekton family at full specification: 25.5" scale, 24 jumbo stainless steel frets on a 16" ebony fingerboard, Modern “D” neck at 49/64" and 27/32", Stylus humbuckers with push/pull coil split for the full tonal range, scarfed bolt-on maple neck. For players who want precision, consistency, and a direct connection to every note — this is the Tekton.
