PRS Wood Library Custom 24 Stoptail Limited - Charcoal
products.product.pickup_availability.unavailable
The Interstellar Tone Traveler pays close attention when PRS does something for the first time — and this is one of those moments. The Custom 24 has been the defining model in the PRS lineup since 1985, and in that entire history it has never been offered with a stoptail. Until now. This Wood Library limited run — 500 guitars worldwide, 100 in each of five finishes — marks the first time the Custom 24 has been paired with the PRS Stoptail with brass inserts, a change that fundamentally shifts how the instrument resonates and responds. Fixed bridge, direct string-to-body transfer, immediate articulation and enhanced sustain — a different kind of Custom 24 than anyone has been able to buy before. Charcoal brings its own quiet drama to the occasion: a deep, smoky grey over curly maple that reveals the figure in shifting light without announcing itself loudly, dark and sophisticated under high gloss nitro. The Black Limba back gives the color and the tonewood story a warm, resonant foundation, the curly maple neck is stained to match the top for complete visual continuity, and a Ziricote fingerboard and headplate — the same exotic dark-grained wood used on the highest-tier PRS instruments — complete a visual package that justifies every Wood Library designation it carries.
Black Limba is a tonewood with serious heritage — resonant, warm, and open in a way that pairs beautifully with maple's clarity — and under DMO pickups driving the Custom 24's 5-way blade switching, the combination covers an exceptional range of tonal territory with the nuance and touch-sensitivity that makes PRS's pickup voicings so consistently musical. The Pattern Thin neck (53/64" at the first fret, 57/64" at the twelfth) runs across a 10" Ziricote fingerboard with Old School Bird inlays and 24 frets at 25" scale, PRS Phase III Locking Tuners with Wing Buttons handle pitch with the stability this guitar's fixed-bridge architecture demands, and at 7lbs 10oz under gloss nitro it carries its Wood Library specifications lightly. Deliveries expected September through December. One hundred of this color exist. PRS ATA Multi-Fit Molded Case included.
