ESP USA Custom Shop V-II FR - Jawbreaker

The Interstellar Tone Traveler does not use the word "weapon" lightly — but the ESP USA Custom Shop V-II FR in Jawbreaker earns it. Built by hand in ESP's Southern California workshop by the same luthiers responsible for the guitars that end up in the hands of some of the most technically demanding players on the planet, the V-II FR USA represents the absolute ceiling of what the Flying V format can be. And then they finished it in Jawbreaker: a swirling, candy-colored riot of vibrant hues bleeding into each other across the aggressive offset V body, the kind of finish that makes the guitar impossible to look at and impossible to look away from. Under satin lacquer, those colors carry a depth and richness that gloss can't touch — saturated without being garish, spectacular without being accidental. The whole package includes an ESP USA form-fitting hardshell case and an official Certificate of Authenticity, because when something is built at this level, it comes with paperwork.
Neck-thru-body construction runs the three-piece maple neck continuously from headstock to body end, providing the kind of sustain and upper-register access that bolt-on and set-neck designs fundamentally cannot replicate, while the mahogany wings deliver warmth and resonance that balances the maple's clarity. The Extra Thin U profile (19mm–21mm) is one of the fastest neck shapes in production guitar, and the 24 extra-jumbo stainless steel frets on a 12" ebony fingerboard with offset abalone dot inlays give you the full range of the instrument with a playing feel built for speed and precision. EMG-X active pickups at both positions — the X series' extended articulation and reduced noise floor over standard EMGs — run through dual volumes and a 3-way, giving you two distinct high-output voices that cut through any mix at any gain level. Floyd Rose Original double-locking tremolo, Gotoh Magnum Lock tuners, Dunlop Straplok buttons, chrome hardware throughout. At 7lbs 7oz, this V carries no excess weight, just pure intent.
