Tom Anderson Guitarworks Top T - Ultraviolet Blue
products.product.pickup_availability.unavailable
The Interstellar Tone Traveler has always appreciated what Tom Anderson does with a classic format: take a silhouette everyone knows, strip away its limitations, and rebuild it to a standard that leaves the original gasping. The Top T with Contours is exactly that exercise applied to the T-style guitar. The bones are unmistakably Telecaster-inspired — the body shape, the vibe, the DNA — but Anderson's additions transform the experience entirely. Forearm and belly contours make this guitar disappear on your body rather than dig into it, and the Quilt Maple top in Ultraviolet Blue over Alder elevates the visual language from workingman's slab to something that looks like it was pulled from just beyond the visible spectrum — a color that lives at the edge of what the eye can perceive, vivid and shifting with every change of light, with a matching back that carries the color story all the way around. This is a T-style guitar that refuses to be ordinary about a single thing.
The pickup configuration tells you immediately that Anderson's Top T plays as broadly as it looks. An H1- humbucker in the neck delivers a warm, vintage-voiced clarity, an SF1 single-coil occupies the middle for the glassy, chimey tones the format is known for, and an H2+ humbucker in the bridge brings a tighter, more aggressive response with the extra output that bridge position demands — all managed by a 5-way blade with a splitter for even more tonal territory. A Vintage Trem replaces the traditional fixed Tele bridge, adding expressive range that hardtail T-styles simply can't offer, and Heavy Stainless Steel frets on a compound 12"–14" radius maple neck with rosewood fingerboard provide the playability to match. The Happy Medium +.030 profile (.855"–.945") gives this neck a substantial, confident feel without ever feeling thick. Locking tuners, chrome hardware, and Anderson Deluxe Gig Bag round out a package that weighs in at a beautifully balanced 7lbs 8oz. This is what a T-style looks like when a master builder has no reason to hold back.
