Tom Anderson Guitarworks Arc Angel - Arctic Blue Burst
products.product.pickup_availability.unavailable
The Interstellar Tone Traveler has been consistently impressed by what Tom Anderson delivers, and the Arc Angel in Arctic Blue Burst may be the most visually striking Anderson we've had come through our doors yet. That quilted maple top glows beneath the Arctic Blue Burst finish like a frozen nebula, with deep blue fading toward a clearer center that allows the dramatic quilt figure to breathe and shimmer beneath the color. The Trans-Light Brown back reveals the mahogany beneath in warm, honeyed contrast, while the black headstock and hardware add a moody, sophisticated edge. This is a beautiful guitar with an attitude to match. At just 6 lbs. 13 oz., it's remarkably lightweight, and the Blackheart fingerboard, an Australian hardwood with dark, richly figured grain, adds another premium detail that rewards a closer look.
The 24.75" short scale is the beating heart of everything the Arc Angel does sonically. The shorter scale contributes to a thicker midrange, more immediate punch, and a warmth in the low end that longer-scale instruments simply can't replicate. Paired with a mahogany neck and body, the result is a thick, singing, harmonically complex voice that gets players hooked from the first chord. An H1 in the neck delivers warm, articulate clarity, while the H2+ at the bridge brings additional output and focused punch for leads and rhythm work that cuts through the mix.
Anderson's clever 5-way switching system unlocks neck, bridge, parallel, series, and split positions, providing five genuinely distinct voices from a deceptively straightforward two-pickup layout. Jumbo stainless steel frets, a compound 12"-14" radius, locking tuners, and a Vintage Trem complete an instrument engineered for players who refuse to compromise between beauty and performance.
