Suhr Reb Beach Standard Signature - Natural

The Interstellar Tone Traveler holds a special kind of reverence for guitars with a genuine origin story — and the Reb Beach Suhr Standard Signature has one of the best in the business. In 1986, a young Reb Beach borrowed $1,200 from his brother — director of the Metropolitan Opera in New York City — to buy a guitar built by a then-unknown luthier named John Suhr. He was working on a Twisted Sister record with Dee Snider at the time, and when Dee saw the Koa-bodied instrument, his review was immediate: "It looks like a coffee table." Reb played it anyway, fell completely in love, and that guitar has been his number one ever since. Nearly four decades later, Suhr formalized what players already knew — that the Reb Beach guitar was something worth replicating exactly. This is that guitar: a Koa-bodied, Pau Ferro-necked, Floyd Rose-equipped signature model built to the precise specifications of the instrument that started it all.
The natural oiled Koa body is the heart of this instrument — a 2-piece slab of Hawaiian hardwood that glows with warm, golden-brown grain and delivers a tonal character that sits beautifully in the midrange with a richness that painted bodies rarely achieve. The oiled Pau Ferro neck and fingerboard keep the organic, unpainted aesthetic consistent from headstock to heel, and the Even C RB profile at .800"–.850" is Reb's personal feel — immediate, comfortable, and built for serious lead work. A compound 10"–14" radius with Heavy nickel frets handles everything from chunky chord work to blazing single-note lines without a hint of fretting out. The pickup configuration is exactly what you'd expect from a player of Reb's style and precision: EMG SA single-coils in the neck and middle for clear, articulate clean tones and a warm, chimey midrange, and an EMG 85 in the bridge for a full-throated, singing lead voice that pairs beautifully with the recessed Original Floyd Rose. Gold hardware throughout, Gotoh Mini Keys for smooth tuning, and a Black switch tip and pickguard complete a guitar that is simultaneously understated and completely purposeful. This is the coffee table that changed Reb Beach's career — and it could change yours.
Condition Notes: Used, excellent condition. Very minor fingernail marks around the volume knob area and pinky anchor point — minute and consistent with careful play. All electronics, Floyd Rose, and hardware in full working order. Includes Hardshell Case.
