Suhr Modern Terra - Desert Sand

The Interstellar Tone Traveler has always appreciated Suhr's ability to find beauty in restraint, and the 2021 Limited Edition Modern Terra is a perfect expression of that philosophy. Released in four terrain-inspired colorways — Mountain Grey, Deep Sea Blue, Desert Sand, and Forest Green — the Modern Terra took the sleek, high-performance Modern platform and dressed it in the quiet, organic beauty of the natural world. Desert Sand arrives in a warm, sun-baked satin finish that feels earthy and tactile in the hand, a guitar that looks like it was carved from the landscape itself. The satin finish runs from body to headstock to neck back, giving this instrument a unified, matte elegance that feels deliberately understated — the visual opposite of flashy, and all the more striking for it. Basswood delivers the kind of beautifully balanced, neutral tonal foundation that lets the player and the pickups define the voice rather than the wood getting in the way — exactly the philosophy a guitar this well-appointed deserves.
The pickup configuration tells a sophisticated tonal story from top to bottom. A DSV in the neck brings warm, articulate vintage character, a V63 in the middle delivers classic single-coil shimmer and quack, and a DSH in the bridge provides focused, hum-free punch in a single-coil footprint — no pickguard interruptions, no visual clutter, just pure function. Jumbo stainless steel frets on a compound 10"-14" radius ebony fingerboard make this one of the most effortlessly playable guitars in our inventory, and the Suhr 2-Post tremolo with solid saddles keeps tuning rock-solid through even the most expressive playing. At 7 lbs 15 oz it's a solid, substantial instrument that commands the room. A 2021 LE that's been genuinely played and loved — arriving with its best years still ahead.
Condition Notes: Pre-owned in very good condition. Shows honest signs of a played life: some light scratches around the middle pickup area from regular play, and wear from pinky anchoring — both completely typical of an actively gigged instrument. Frets are perfect with excellent life remaining. Overall presentation is very good throughout. Includes hardshell case.
