After nearly thirty years in hypersleep, this iconic design returns to deliver the massive, wide-spectrum performance that shaped some of the fiercest tones of the 1980s. Used on countless stages and recordings of the era, the Split Back offers a unique hybrid design that blends the best of open-back airiness with closed-back punch—all in one versatile, road-ready cab.

Up top, the open chamber provides shimmering cleans, spacious dimension, and expressive bloom. Down below, a sealed chamber adds the tight, percussive low-end thump players crave. Together, the Split Back gives you a tonal experience that covers a galaxy of styles without the need for multiple cabinets. Pair it with a Mark IIC+ or a Dual Rectifier® Solo Head and you’ll understand why this cab has such a devoted following.

Crafted from void-free, marine-grade Baltic birch, wrapped in rugged Bronco Tolex with hand-formed leather corners, this cabinet is built for serious work—whether on stage, in the studio, or traveling between star systems. A durable expanded metal grille protects the proprietary UK-built Celestion C90 speakers, while removable castersmounted on Track-Loc guide plates make transport effortless.

Inside, the Split Back houses two Celestion C90 drivers, with the lower speaker in a ported chamber for added girth and low-end authority. Wired at 8 Ohms, the rear jack plate includes a main input and a parallel output for easy expansion into a 4-ohm rig with an additional cab.
