PRS Mark Holcomb - Purple Mist Wraparound Burst
products.product.pickup_availability.unavailable
Built for precision under pressure, the PRS Mark Holcomb Signature Model is a modern instrument engineered for clarity, control, and unapologetic power. Designed with Mark Holcomb of Periphery, this guitar translates complex, high-gain compositions into something focused, articulate, and brutally effective—whether you’re onstage, in the studio, or pushing your rig to its limits.
Holcomb’s groundbreaking riffing is a cornerstone of Periphery’s dense triple-guitar sound, and this model is tuned to thrive in that environment. The 25.5” scale length, 24 jumbo frets, and ultra-flat 20” radius ebony fretboard create a fast, precise playing surface built for technical runs, extended chords, and aggressive rhythm work. The Pattern Mark Holcomb neck shape strikes a perfect balance between comfort and control, staying solid even under the heaviest hands.
Visually, the Purple Mist Wraparound Burst looks like a cosmic storm frozen in motion. A striking mango top sits over a mahogany body, finished in satin nitro for a smooth, no-nonsense feel. Satin black hardware completes the stealth-meets-space aesthetic.
Tone is handled by Holcomb’s signature Seymour Duncan Scarlet (bass) and Scourge (treble) pickups—voiced for tight, authoritative low end and crystal-clear articulation. Complex chord voicings stay defined, drop tunings remain punchy, and high-gain tones never blur. The 5-way blade switch opens up a wide tonal spectrum, from full dual-humbucker aggression to articulate coil-split textures in positions two and four, making this guitar far more versatile than its metal pedigree might suggest.
From progressive metal to fusion, chicken-pickin’ to atmospheric cleans, the Mark Holcomb model doesn’t just handle genre shifts—it thrives on them.
