Tom Anderson Guitarworks Raven - Voodoo Blue with Black Racing Stripe
products.product.pickup_availability.unavailable
The Interstellar Tone Traveler has a weakness for guitars that arrive already knowing exactly what they are — and the Tom Anderson Raven in Voodoo Blue with Black Racing Stripes has that quality in abundance. Anderson's Raven takes the offset body silhouette that defined the most expressive guitars of the early '60s and rebuilds it as a rear-mounted, pickguard-free modern instrument — a surface entirely uninterrupted by hardware or plastic, just a clean sweep of Voodoo Blue with black racing stripes running the body's contour like velocity made visible. The matching headstock carries the color story all the way to the top, and black hardware throughout keeps the contrast sharp and intentional. This is a guitar that looks fast standing still — a spacecraft with the paint job of something that doesn't believe in speed limits.
Beneath the striking exterior, the Raven is all Anderson precision. The Alder body delivers the balanced, articulate response that has made it a boutique staple, and the Caramel Maple neck with Blackheart Board fingerboard brings a dramatically dark visual character to the playing surface — the deep, streaked figuring of the Blackheart board running underneath "No Face Dots" inlays for a completely clean, uncluttered fretboard aesthetic. The Even Taper +.030 profile fills the hand with confident authority, and the compound 12"–14" radius with Jumbo frets makes every position of the neck feel effortless and immediate. An H1- in the neck and H2+ at the bridge cover the full humbucker tonal spectrum — vintage warmth to bright, punchy attack — and the 3-Way Toggle with two independent Cut Switches opens up single-coil voices from each humbucker individually, multiplying the tonal options well beyond what a standard 3-way offers. A Vintage Trem with Locking tuners keeps pitch rock-solid through anything the player demands. At 7lbs 8oz, it wears as lightly as it plays — effortless, balanced, and devastating.
