Novo Dealer Limited Chambered Serus H2 - Tobacco Burst
products.product.pickup_availability.unavailable
The Interstellar Tone Traveler has now spent considerable time in Novo's orbit, and every new model that arrives from Dennis Fano's Nashville workshop reinforces why this builder occupies a category of its own in the boutique world. The Serus H2 is Novo's offset dual-humbucker answer — and in Tobacco Burst over a German Carve Figured Maple top, it is one of the most visually arresting instruments in the shop. The German Carve technique gives the maple top a distinctive recessed channel running inside the binding edge, a detail that reads as both architectural and organic — and Tobacco Burst deepens across that figured surface with warm amber, honey, and rich brown tones that shift beautifully under different light. Nitro light aging on the body and neck gives it a lived-in quality that new gloss finishes can't approximate, and the Bull Black headstock provides a sharp, deliberate contrast that ties the whole aesthetic together. At 7lbs 2oz, this chambered tempered pine body is nearly impossible to believe — it wears like a feather while resonating with the acoustic complexity that only chambered construction and Novo's signature tonewoods can produce.
The Serus H2's 24.75" scale length places it in classic single-cut LP territory — slightly warmer and darker in response than the longer-scale Serus J, with a different kind of note bloom and sustain that the chambered body amplifies further. Lollar Imperial humbuckers bring the gold standard of PAF-voiced winding to the platform — articulate, harmonically complex, and utterly responsive to pick attack and volume control — and Novo's control layout adds one critical distinction from the standard LP wiring: a Bass Cut control in place of a second tone knob, letting you trim low-end weight on the fly for mix clarity and definition that passive tone controls alone can't deliver. MOTO dot inlays, Jescar 47095 nickel-silver medium frets on a compound 9.5"–14" East Indian Rosewood fingerboard, Gold Speed Knobs, cream pickguard, Novo 18:1 non-locking tuners, and Stringjoy 11-50 strings complete an instrument where every decision — from the chambering to the control layout to the carve technique — reflects a builder thinking carefully about what players actually need.
