Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul Axcess Custom - Cobra
The Gibson Custom Shop's Made to Measure program exists for one purpose: to build the guitar that the standard catalog cannot. The Interstellar Tone Traveler is proud to present one such instrument — the Les Paul Axcess Custom in Cobra, a finish that does exactly what the name implies. The Cobra colorway rolls across an AAA Flame Maple top in deep, dramatic tones that shift and coil with every angle of light, while the mahogany back wears TV Black — a two-tone combination that turns the back of this guitar into its own visual statement. Beneath the VOS Nitrocellulose, the 7-ply top binding and matching headstock binding announce their Custom heritage clearly, and the Apex headstock design reinforces neck strength where traditional LP headstocks have historically been vulnerable. This is a Les Paul Custom reimagined for the modern player — not compromised, not simplified, but evolved.
The Axcess design starts where the vintage blueprint ends. The 1-piece mahogany body carries Axcess Weight Relief and redesigned upper-body contours that open up fretboard access and add comfort that standard LP Customs simply don't offer, all without sacrificing the tonal density that makes a mahogany/maple Les Paul irreplaceable. The Long Tenon neck joint ensures maximum resonance transfer between neck and body, and the Ebony fingerboard with Mother of Pearl block inlays sits over a 12" radius built for fluid lead work. A 490R and 498T in nickel covers deliver classic Gibson warmth and output, and the two 500K push/pull tone pots add series/parallel switching — giving you a broader, more open parallel voice alongside the full, thick series sound without ever touching the pickup selector. At 7lbs 9oz, this is a Les Paul Custom that you can actually wear. Certificate of Authenticity included.
