The Interstellar Tone Traveler is delighted to offer this 2023 Custom Shop 60's Telecaster Custom Relic in Super Faded Shell Pink, a guitar that looks like it's been aging gracefully on a studio wall since Lyndon Johnson was in office. The full Relic treatment goes further than the Journeyman designation — deeper lacquer checking, more pronounced wear at the edges and playing surfaces, oxidized hardware — and in Super Faded Shell Pink, the effect is simply stunning: a pale, creamy, sun-bleached pink that carries sixty years of imaginary history in every worn edge and checking pattern. The double-bound alder body is the "Custom" detail that sets this Telecaster apart from its unbound siblings, adding a refined elegance that frames the faded pink with a quietly sophisticated visual accent. This is a guitar that doesn't need to announce itself — it just sits there looking incredible until someone picks it up.

 The Custom Shop spec underneath all that gorgeous aging is equally impressive. A roasted maple neck in the 60's Style Oval "C" profile — notably slim at .790"-.930" — pairs with a period-correct Indian Rosewood 3A flat slab fingerboard and compound 9.5"-12" radius for a playing feel that is immediately fast and comfortable. The flat slab board is an authenticity detail worth noting: this is the pre-curved-lam construction of the early 60s, and it has a subtly different feel under the fingers that vintage players recognize immediately. 6100 Jumbo frets give modern playability without compromising the vintage aesthetic, and the pickup combination tells a layered tonal story: an HW Blackguard bridge pickup brings the aggressive, punchy heat of the early 1950s Blackguard-era Telecasters, while the HW 58 Tele neck pickup delivers warm, smooth, vintage neck tone voiced after the beloved 1958 specification.
