Prepare for re-entry.
The Bad Cat Hot Cat 50 is the latest evolution of a true high-gain legend—and it’s ready to anchor your rig like a gravity well. For over 25 years, the Hot Cat has been Bad Cat’s weapon of choice for professional players who demand power, precision, and authority. This newest Mod Shop incarnation takes that legacy and launches it into a new sonic dimension.
At its core is a redesigned 50-watt power section, delivering massive headroom, tighter response, and explosive dynamics. Two seamlessly integrated channels, a more flexible EQ, and switchable Lo and Hi gain modes give you total control over your tonal orbit—from pristine cleans to full-throttle gain.
Where the Black Cat 30 thrives on classic, expressive tones, the Hot Cat 50 is built for contrast. Big, open cleans. Aggressive crunch. Saturated high-gain. All in one uncompromising amplifier. Simply put, this is the most wide-ranging amp in the Bad Cat lineup.
Plug a single-coil guitar into the clean channel in Lo mode, and you’re greeted with glassy, American-style cleans—wide, articulate, and instantly familiar. Flip to Hi mode, and the same channel jumps into bouncy, Paisley-style country lead tones with bite and clarity. Swap that Telecaster for a Les Paul without touching the controls, and the amp pivots effortlessly into mid-forward, percussive classic rock—tight, punchy, and unapologetically bold.
The second channel ventures deeper into the cosmos, voiced like a classic JCM-style circuit with plenty of crunch and aggression. Set the gain around 2 o’clock and you’re squarely in ’80s arena rock territory. Engage Hi mode, and the Hot Cat turns feral—delivering modded high-gain tones built for harder rock and metal with surgical accuracy.
Loaded with real-world features—effects loop, onboard reverb, direct line-out, and a two-button footswitch—the Hot Cat 50 is designed to be the centerpiece of a serious rig. It takes pedals and rack effects effortlessly, translating every nuance of your signal with clarity and force.
This isn’t just an amp.
It’s a command module for players who need total tonal control—no matter what galaxy the gig demands.
