Every S2 Special Semi-Hollow Reclaimed features three extraordinary tonewoods, each sourced responsibly and preserved in its natural beauty—complete with nail holes, scars, and markings that echo the history of the structures and landscapes they once inhabited.
Peroba Rosa Top??
Harvested from Brazilian buildings where it served as siding for 100–150 years, Peroba Rosa brings a density and resonance forged over generations. Its aged fibers project a tone that is punchy yet warm, enhanced by the semi-hollow design for a voice that feels alive—like a meteor glowing as it cuts through the atmosphere.
The Neck,
Sourced exclusively from Puerto Rico, this Cuban mahogany was recovered from “hazard” trees brought down or compromised by Hurricane Maria in 2017. Durable, stable, and rich in tone, these trees—once towering sentinels—have been reborn as music-making instruments. Their story embodies resilience, transformation, and the beauty that emerges after chaos.
Traditionally used as structural house beams in Brazil, Guaribu Preto is a hard, reliable wood reborn here as an elegant fretboard. Its density adds definition and clarity, allowing notes to ring out across the sonic void with precision.
Finished in Satin Nitro to preserve the tactile, organic feel of reclaimed wood, each instrument reveals its history rather than hiding it. The Pattern Regular Cuban Mahogany neck, 10” radius Guaribu Preto fretboard, and PRS’s celebrated ergonomics create a playing experience that feels immediate, intimate, and alive.
